Janelle Monaé may well have been her own undoing after setting the bar so ridiculously high with The Archandroid, but if Q.U.E.E.N. is anything to go by, she'll have no trouble repeating that feat.
Q.U.E.E.N. is strikingly feminist (undoubtedly with Erykah Badu as a feature), quirky, catchy, and everything you'd expect from Monaé plus a dollop of Chic / lounge jazz. In her own words, "every album is a suite. Every song is an experience". Needless to say, the intellect and innovation that goes into this experience is astounding - we're all ready and wired for the Electric Lady.
