Of all the upcoming bands we've championed, London trio Boy Names have to be one of our favourites (not just because we have an unhealthy crush on at least two-thirds of them). We first clocked them back in January, when their song Fox Mobility beguiled us into a Rhye-meets-London Grammar stupor.
The unsigned group are currently readying their first EP, Wanted Man, and have uploaded three of its songs on their SoundCloud page. Patrick Seeburn's mellifluous vocals reel you in from the title track but it's on Permanent Love, with its welcome to-and-fro backup from Nudge Staden, that the group truly arrive. It's an arresting pop-soul concoction that could have melted even Thatcher.
