The last time we heard of Kodaline, they'd been long-listed for that bizarre old trove that is the BBC Sound of 2013. While we remained initially sceptical, the recently-released High Hopes EP does show a flicker or two of promise.
The standout track by far is All My Friends, below. A slow-burning yet ever-so-sweet indie number, it trades in loud guitars for a more subdued harmony. More of this and they might be on to something.
